HVAC Advanced Courses
The HVAC Courses cover all the Xylem HVAC pumps and accessories, including wet rotor circulators, in line, end suction, multistage, double suction pumps and variable speed drives. The courses are set according the different applications and level of knowledge of the attendees:
– Heating advanced: advanced system design.
– Air conditioning advanced: large chiller systems.
During the three-day class, attendees will receive instruction on sizing, system design, applications and features/benefits, as well as interactive training in the demonstration classroom, including setup, installation and troubleshooting. The HVAC Course also includes a plant tour of the manufacturing facility. Each attendee will learn how to select and size the correct pump for the application. In addition, attendees will gain valuable experience regarding the different HVAC systems and pumps.

Locations: Montecchio Maggiore, Italy, Strzelin, Poland
The system sizing course covers the sizing of large HVAC systems, with a focus on Large Chilled Water systems and District Heating systems. Attendees learn the design criteria, the different types of system, how to size the pipes and calculate pressure drops, and how to calculate the flow in open system design with cooling towers. During the course examples, exercises and tips will be delivered.
Duration: 4 hours.
During the advanced systems course attendees learn which are the most advanced system design approaches combined with renewable energy sources.
Duration: 2 hours.
Xylem’s facilities adopt the Lean Manufacturing approach, reducing the delivery time and waste with very high flexibility. During the tour the visitor has the possibility to see all the different steps in the manufacturing process, starting with the raw material up to shipment of the final product.
Duration: 1,5 hours.
Controls and Variable Speed Drives (VSD)
Electronics equipment and controls are critical components in a large HVAC system. During the course attendees will learn the difference between a Fixed Speed and a VSD design, and which sensors and monitoring systems should be used and how to select, size and install them correctly. Duration: 4 hours.
Large chilled water system design
A course dedicated to the design of large chilled water systems and the different solutions available for correctly sizing all the components within it. Attendees learn how to size the pump, the VSD and how to balance the different branches properly. An introduction to comfort and different cooling solutions will be shown.
Duration: 3 hours.
Optional site visit
The last day may feature a site visit, where the attendees will have the chance to see a real working system, depending on site availability and time of year.
